After a tough day yesterday I was hoping that Hungary was going to bowl us over today and it did not disappoint. the weather gods once again spoiling us with temps in the 30’s again today.

Whilst the route was not exactly following  the Danube at first the roads were good and the scenery very nice and starting to feel very  Soviet.

Day 5 from Bitte Schon To Ďakujem Cycling the Danube

Today was to be an exciting day as we leave Austria via Vienna and enter Slovakia via Bratislava.


The weather gods once again being kind to us with a predicted 30 degrees although once we had packed our very wet tent up it was a little chilly.

The scenery started off beautiful with the Danube dressed both sides in beautiful Spring like flowers butterfly’s dancing before the sun became too harsh.

Day 4 Transition Day – Cycling Danube

Today is a transition day we don’t pass any major cities so the aim is to get as near to Vienna as possible as we will whizz though Vienna into Bratislava quite quickly. So we need to hit a bigger mileage.

We had kaffe and Kuch in a nice little bar with an unusually friendly Austrian, it’s the first place for years where we have seen people smoking indoors well strange, everybody smokes in Austria.

The weather gods have been kind  to us again today not requiring anything more than very light clothing.
